My last two visits to the beach I thought I might take a guitar... But, I'd put it in harms way and for 20 or 30 min. of play... Why kill a finish or cause a crack...

Sooo, I'm looking for a cracked top... Nice action... Solid bridge... Holds tune... USA "O".

I don't need a case.

I just started watching the low ebay side of things. I'm really looking for a beater.

I've always had my eyes peeled for exactly what you're looking for, Woz. They come up from time to time (doesn't everything?) but you've gotta be fast. I've yet to grab one. Good luck.

How 'bout an caseless 1861-4 with two long finish checks, no rosette, saddle or battery compartment cover? The pup is there.

The rest of the git is in great shape. I bought it for parts but if someone wants it for $100 plus shipping, LMK. Email me for pics.

Although I don't take it down to the beach, for the last few summers I left the Matrix at the cabin, thinking that it was the least valuable and most durable. After another year of noticing that everyone else's Matrix has finish cracks and mine doesn't, I left the Balladeer up there this time. If you don't already have something with a bunch of finish cracks, get a MOB or Applause or Celebrity 057.
