These are great guitars! Many of those sold today are a bit beat or have problems...this one is NOS....any SSB case can be modified to fit the pointy headstock...OP 24 electrics are so nice! Great buy for someone (I've got mine).

I agree, I had one that I sold to Gway, and he loves it. Like you said, they mostly have cracks around the sound holes.

Mike, I am not so sure about being able to modify a SSB case to fit the T-Bolt. Have you done this or actually seen it done?

Modified as in "parts cut out and removed?"

i think there was a small notch "cut out" for the pointed headstock and the guitar had to be placed in the case either tail or head first. i can't remember for sure. it worked well, whatever the case ;)

In my case, the foam or whatever material is used in the case compressed easily to form fit the headstock.Did it with my thumb.

Sorry everybody: I've been a bit busy,(right Stephen?)
OK, Randy is close: mine came modified but a hammer and a small chisel will push the foam back enough to fit the end of the headstock in...the plush can be pulled back first and then replaced...works well: the guitar is a killer and worth the effort (original cases are very hard to come by).
Even if you just have a gig bag, this is a great guitar!

Listing sez- "This is a new, never owned, late 80’s Ovation Thunderbolt guitar. The story is the electronics did not work on this guitar when it was originally shipped, and it was put into storage and forgotten about."

I question this version of the story...
If they sent you a broken guitar... why didn't you send it back?
If they sent you a new guitar that takes a custom case... Where is the case?
(you didn't accidentally sell it with something else, did you?)

[Wow Man, those were confusing times back then. If you weren't there you wouldn't understand, man...)

OMA: it was evidently shipped from the Factory w/nonworking pre-amp. They had bought in bulk and set it aside and forgot about it....

Flash forward to today...
