Good afternoon everyone. Came across this very nice Academy sitting out on a stand in a local pawn shop. I couldn't believe i would run across one of these in such nice condition in a pawn shop. Overall condition out of 10 would be a solid 8. There is one small ding on the back of the neck that i showed in one of the pics. Also some rubbing and small dings on the very top of the headstock. Nothing major. Other than that this thing sounds amazing for a plastic topped guitar. I have read some of the other posts and heard how some of the members love these things and now i know why. Has the 12 fret neck and it's 1 7/8 " wide at the nut. Cool for a 6 string. Silver label is intact in the bowl. Serial # 009732 Frets have plenty of life in them with NO grooving at all. Bowl, rosette, strap pins, & bridge are all in great shape. Original tuning pegs have no rust or pitting. If you have been looking for one of these, this is one to seriously consider. I want to keep it here in the brother/sisterhood and if no one grabs it i probably hang onto it. ( no ebay )Check out my photo gallery for pics. If interested, pm me and we can discuss price or trades. I was thinking in the 250.00 price range. Thanks.... James

Yup. These are NICE !!!

My strong preference is the rosewood fretboard slothead version, but this baby blue one is pretty nice.

If you're writing off these guitars because of the plastic top (and braces!) without hearing one, you are missing something really amazing.

Gal's right. I've played his (as well as drawn on the top). Much better guitar than you'd think it is...

There were a couple of them at the NW Gathering. One aluminum fretboard and one with the rosewood. The did sound nice.

Baby blue. Nice. Are those a set of Schaller tuners on the peghead? Look kinda fancy for that critter.

Not sure, don't see any kind of writing or logo on them. As far as i can tell , they look original.

I guess i should have been clearer in my first post. I don't have a case for this as it did not come with one. I will pack very well and insure it. The price included shipping to the lower 48 states. How does $200.00 sound?

Well..i hate to do it but if no one is interested, it is going to ebay. Six guitars in my small home is too much and without this one having a case, i don't want it to get damaged.
