I had one of the ReIssues and it was a great sounding and playing guitar. I am sure the originals sound excellent also. The opening bid is an excellent price.

Yes, It's one of the more affordable Adamii.. I'm thinking it would make a serious Baritone-style instrument with heavy guage strings at C standard..

If this guys spends that much on guitars,...that's more than the start-up costs for a small music shop...must be a serious collector..or maybe we'll start seeing some of these guitars come back up on ebay...also, I just checked some of his recent ebay purchases...he's bought 3 Adamas', an O' Collector, a Martin D41, a Fender pro-shop Strat, a few Guilds, a Takamine, a Taylor, a few amps, etc...

I know the week dollar has resulted in Europeans buying up collectible cars. Maybe he's taking advantage of the week dollar to pick up some nice stuff at bargain prices. When things turn around he might sell it back.

Talk about a weak dollar...I went to a larger music store today. They were a Martin, Fender, Taylor, etc. dealer. They had a couple hundred guitars out on the floor, maybe 15 or 20 higher-end instruments behind the counter. The place was full of amps, gear, pa's, strings, accessories, etc., but it was dead in there..the guitar's had old strings, warped necks... a lot of the tags were marked down.. I found one or two that would tune and didn't play too bad..but I'm thinking if I had the bucks I could get a USA Strat cheap...This place a ton of money in inventory just sitting there..collecting dust..

Ladies and gents, hold off on buying from the major retailers. We haven't seen anything near the ultimate bottom of our declining economy.

Presently the highest market outlet is right here on the OFC! Maybe Al and et. al. can give us an up front evaluation of the current trends. IMO, out in the real world, the short-term guitar market will continue to decline.

Just my .02 FRN...

The Australian dollar hit 98c US the other day. About 5 years ago it was heading south towards 50c and in recent years has been tracking around 75c. This seems to be mainly reflecting a weak US dollar as the Aussie dollar hasn't moved against the Euro in any significant manner (might be 2c lower than when I went OS in 2002).

If this trend continues, the number of overseas buyers will continue to increase. On the good side, eventually the number of foreign currency flowing into the US will start to turn the situation around (or at least slow the decline).
