It's in great shape for its age with only cosmetic issues to detract from its value. It plays smooth and loud and the pre-amp works fine. The serial number dates it to 1995, but only the hardshell case is showing its age. Anyway, you all know the basics: USA made, solid spruce top, cherry-cherry burst finish, OP-24 pre-amp, 5-piece neck, ebony fretboard, walnut bridge, hard-shell case, and a bonus gig bag for those less strenuous nights out. It has a couple of small dings in the top and on the back of the headstock, none of which show more than 2 feet away. (However, a good polishing will make it look stunning!) The only real cosmetic issue can be seen in the pics; one of the epaulettes is lifting one edge. Kim Keller says a little steam-ironing and some super glue should put it right. That's it for the negatives. Soundwise, it's everything you'd expect from New Hartford. The neck is straight and the intonation good. Now about the cases: the pics tell the story about the HSC. 10 Years+ of doing its job has left some scarring on the edges and damaged one hinge, but it still closes securely, and the latches work fine. The gig bag is in great shape and has a nice snug fit. Now for the nitty gritty.... Considering its age and the cosmetic issues, I'm asking $565 shipped in the continental US. Check about shipping if you live overseas. (JEEZ, it's expensive to ship anymore isn't it?!) Seriously folks, other than that epaulette, this thing is FINE. Let me know what you all think. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

You've got a great mando at a great price but there's three things working against you: 1. the economy sucks and a mando is probably a peripheral purchase for a guitar player 2. a hard core mando player probably already has a higher end instrument 3. there could be some anti-roundback sentiment working against you, but probably less so than with guitars. If I didn't already have a nice one, I'd buy it. Dave

I watch stuff on eBarf go for alot less than they are worth. I just sold my last Celebrity for $333, which was a Great Deal... Some entrepreneur (Capitalist Greedy Pig) offered me $250 including shipping, so he could resell it. Greedy folks see you offering a Good Deal, and assume it is a sign of weakness and desperation. The same folks that want $3999 for their $200 junk car. Maybe you need to find a Bluegrass Forum of some sort... Cuz the folks at AGF don't even crack funny jokes. [BTW- The woman who got the Celebrity is REAL happy! :D ]

The threw out a rediculus offer almost as a joke, and BINGO all of a sudden he owned a 47RI! Sometimes you get lucky. Patch - Post it over on the Tak Forum. The admins over there are nice and won't boot you just 'cuz it's got a rounded back. Dave

(Now I know I had it priced to sell. ) I still have the case though. I'll probably throw it to the eBay gremlins to see what it fetches unless someone here wants it cheap.
