Location: Newbury Park Ca | if there is anyone who knows of a nice 1651-7 Legend for sale, please let me know. I just missed a couple on ebay but i was hoping the some of you may know where I can get one. my first acoustic was an Ovation and I made the mistake of lending it to a friend and I never got it back. Lately I have been looking to replace it and noticed that the 1651 was the guitar that John Lennon used on Double Fantasy and that is the model that I need to have. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance for your help.

I had the re-issue. I consider it to be the "one that got away". If I see another re-issue come along I may have to pick it up. Bad news is they weren't made for the US market. All but about 5 went overseas.
However, those 2007 collectors FRGs are looking pretty good. Just wish it was 1 3/4 neck. |

| Slydog has one...an original and not a re-issue, and it's for sale, the top's a little wavy, but no cracks and the action is good and plays well.
more photos in my gallery in the other forum. and all there are for sale... the preacher and natural 1624 have been sold.

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | MG/Slydog, that top has got to be the lightest top I've ever seen on a 1651. Is it really that light or just the camera? Most. including mine, look like dark nutmeg, almost the color of walnut, and that one looks like butterscotch. |

| that shot does appear a little light compared to the others... check my photos on the other site, there are others of the 1651, but comparing it to the color/stain on the re-issues it IS definitely lighter than they are...
Al Segen aka Slydog here on the OFC is the owner of these, and he is a little PC challenged at times, so I am listing and selling for him, as he does not have an established e-bay rating which would make it a little more difficult to make a sale there.
he is not trying to make a profit on any of these, he'd like to, but as soft as the market is right now, he'd like to just get what he paid for them, but so far he's had to sell 3 at a loss... it's tough for everyone here in the states right now... and making ends meet and taking care of our families is getting pretty dicey... and our kids and extended families are all flocking back home to Mom's and Dad's because of the current "State of the Union"
