Then search Ovation Tornado on ebay and save the searches so you get an email when one gets listed. There are one or two a month, but you may have to wait for a natty.

There's a burst and a red now.

Congrats Keith! I was looking at it seriously, but knew it was just another GAS attack. Took some pepto, and all is well...

Hope we get a chance to see it at the Mountain Jam Keith.

This one was the first, in a while, that got the GAS flowing.

MWOODY or you could use this one ...

plus I owe you anyway!

looks like it's designed to shape it to size and produce the beveled edge by using 2 different cutters.

Tal,

How about I fly out there, rent a U-Haul and clean your garage for you? :D

You have got all of the best historical/Whatdaheckizzdiss stuff of all of us. You need to keep posting these suprises and become the official Curator for the BFLG.

Besides, just put it on my tab until you are ready to send me your Adamas Proto!!!!

Thanks for the offer MW... Actually the garage still does needs some more cleaning out... Though a lot has been done already. The hard part has been sorting through it all and also the fact I'm usually 200 miles away. The fun part has been finding a document or other catalog that explains what the "Whatdaheckizzdiss" is.. it's been quite a puzzle. I'm cautious now to not throw things out that I'm not 100% sure about. For example. probably 10 years ago I clearly remember throwing out a stripped down ovation solid body guitar body that was pretty light weight , and was actually made of foam? It even had a wood grain effect it in the sunburst finish. I figured who would want a "foam" guitar body ? ...

... and now I just bought a used one off ebay..

That "foam" guitar was my first Ovation. Actually, it was the first guitar I ever bought on my own.

I bought the UKII brand new back in '82.

I look forward to the challenge of piecing together the UK II , and it's using the body for dimemsions to complete a possible wooden twin.

Mike knows what I'm taking about... TJR

Talbot,

Miles (Mr. OVation) has a wood topped UKII, I think it has a maple cap on it.

I didn't take advantage of playing it while I was there and I've been kicking myself since.

It's a birch top. It is the center of the Adamas tops, only .030" thick and pressed onto the top of the UK body and then bound.

Sounds pretty cool... I'll get some pics and repost in the General section ... though it's a mahogany body w/ a maple top roughly in the UK II shape. not too light weight though. Talbot
