Joined: October 2006 Posts: 5576 Location: big island | aloha folks, yesterday i learned and diddled with a new tuning called F Wahine (C-F-C-G-C-E low to high). the "wahine" designation simply means there is a 7th in the tuning and so it does not sound right without some sort of fretting going on. it sounds lost strummed open. anyway, it is a work in progress, but i have just uploaded a song on my page that i am calling, "ariana's lullabye", named for my three year old daughter. listen beyond the foibles and missed/wrong notes and please tell me what you think. i decided to try this song using my takamine EF75. this song is not practiced and i recorded it on the fly. after recording it, i strummed my ukulele along with the playback and i was well pleased with the sound. i will add the ukulele track to a cleaner version of the song when i have time. mahalo! | ||

Joined: October 2006 Posts: 5576 Location: big island | mahalo, guys. i added a bit of chorus and reverb to the EF75's sound through the zoom pedal. that guitar records very nicely. i was able to achieve a nicer played back sound than i normally get because i was not using headphones this time. i monitored in real time through some behringer ms16 powered monitor speakers i got on the bay for $54 brand new. like slipkid, i'm startin' to get a good kick outta this home recording stuff... | ||

LP's are making a comeback and CD's are outta here. so it's digital downloads or LP's. i'll bet the record companies are hyping the comeback of the LP behind the scenes. they've still got all that dinosaur equipment in storage and would still like to hedge the business... | ||
