I probably could find the answer with a search but I thought this would be easier. What are some sights with free guitar tabs?

Try Chordie. What I like about it,is it has the ability to change the key of the song. Chords only. If a lead or fill is "tabbed" out it stays in the original key.

Be aware that MANY of the tabs and chorded songs that you can find online have errors in them.

If you're using one of them and suddenly think "THAT chord doesn't sound right", it probably isn't. :)

That is an understatement! I would rate most tabs at about 60% at best. For me, the tab or chords get me in the ballpark and then I spend a few hours figuring out how it really goes. If all you want is to pass the "galloping horse" test (nobody would notice the difference while riding by on a galloping horse), the online sources are good enough.

I generally try Chordie first, and agree that the whole "accuracy'-thing CAN be questionable (depending upon who posts the chords/tabs), but 9-out-of-10 times, it'll put you "in the ballpark" and you can "fix" it yourself . . .

WhatEVER you do, avoid trying to "show your support" by ordering a t-shirt from them. They are TOTAL sh!t. I ordered a couple last Christmas (one was ear-marked as a gift), and was totally pissed by the crap they were trying to pass off.
Several attempts at "Customer Service" (the shirts were printed in France) got me NOwhere, so ended up going on their "Forum" and hit them with both barrels . . .

. . . I was summarily thrown off.

The accuracy of the songs/tabs is HIGHLY subjective.

I'm with OMA. Ultimate Guitar Tabs. I would be surprised if 50% are correct. Many are not even in the right key. They have several in Powertab, which you can listen to. I've found those to be the most accurate, but some are played on a synthesizer that is hard to recognize as a guitar.
I do the google search too, but it usually leads me back to Ultimate Guitar Tabs.

The tabs on ultimate guitar are rated. Try the one with the most stars first. Then go to youtube and listen to the song. That should help you correct the mistakes.

If you look hard enough, you may notice that a LOT of the posts on BOTH sites are one and the same . . .

Thank you for your responses. I logged on to ultimate guitar tabs and was the 999,999th visitor. I think I won something?

I'm happy if I pass the "speeding train" test.

I like Chordie and Cowboylyrics.com. With some of those other sites I feel like their trying to deposit something on my computer.

Now that I sent some new folks to Ultimate Guitar, I forgot to warn you... (my bad)

Ultimate Guitar is the reason why I switched to Firefox. They have way too many pop-ups, but Firefox blocks alot of them.

It might be better with the newer IE, but I don't use it so I don't know.

I am in no way affiliated with Firefox, but someone in the OFC turned me on to it...

Firefox.... Choose your Language.
