Catch me in a moment of weakness. Stunningly beautiful KOA Tacoma I would conservatively call a 9.75 out of 10. Looks different from every angle, so it's hard to capture photographically. I'm trying to thin out the herd. This guitar has an ethereal ring to it. I now have it strung with mediums and tuned to D, and it really likes the deep voice. Has factory installed LR Baggs electronics. I have also replaced the truss rod cover with a custom made KOA unit. $1300.00 + shipping with hardshell HumiCase.

This is a STUNNING piece of 'art'! Jim brought it up last week and the wood is amazing. She plays sweet across the fretboard too.

Thanks Johnny, I agree, this is art at it's finest.

Jack, you know about this one. Almost too pretty to take out and play. I've got more guitars than time...

I had a friend that had it for a month but refused to play it. He didn't want to put the first scratch on it. He would just stare at it. :)

So this thing has been passed around by people to scared to play it hard, shame.

TJ if no art dealer buys it let me know. Does it play and sound as good as it looks?

It plays as good as any guitar I've had including my JW, and sounds almost like it is hooked up to a chorus amp. Very different sound, not the typical "dark" sound of KOA. The LR Baggs preamp is very nice too. Like I said, a moment of weakness (and trying to keep the wife happy) She seems to think I have too many guitars, can you imagine? If it stays, it wont bother me a bit.

I wasn't afraid to play it. TJ wanted to move his 1719 30CM, but I didn't need another guitar and the only thing I had to trade was the Tacoma. Plus the 30CM was the first Ovation that I had lusted for.

Check with Edenharvest about the sound. He owns one and loves it.

Well I'd love to have but I need some income...

Just put some things in the Ebay store (see the link in my signature). OFC discounts of course.

Jack's right, these Tacoma Koa's are sweet...mine's a bit worn for the wear, and is my "casual" guitar, but it gets a ton of stage use and just sounds fabulous.

Plus, you'll never get them again, since Fender's pretty well seen to that...and if Jim says it's a 9.75, then it's guaranteed a 12!

Thanks for the endorsement Andrew. Your check is in the mail. I think Randy was jonesing for one of these, and he's trying to figure out a way to make it happen.

Maybe Jim felt obliged to tick it down since I caressed it!

Seriously, I don't know why Jim rated it that low. It's effing awesome!
