i just want to say it.
i love this guitar. on the beginning, it was some sort of love/hate relationship. i loved the sound and hated the neck. once i got used to it... i just can't stop playing on this guitar.
this is main reason why i'm not posting so much lately. i just play.
every time i'm in home i grab Carvin and play.
yesterday i ended playing on 4:50 a.m.

it was really unexpected.
Thank You Damon for posting pictures of this blue Carvin that brought GAS to me.

i think this is a "guitar for life"
i just had to share it.
have good time ;]

mine also has piezo pickup.
great, really great guitar. really versatile and it hold it's own against Music Man Luke Family Reserve edt, which cost 4 times that many... or even more.

Isn't it great when you find "the one"? Way better than "the one" in romance. Your guitar will never cheat on you, lie to you, or refuse to take the garbage out.

Forget name recognition. I own some great O's a Taylor 514ce and a Vintage Gibson Dove. My best acoustic guitar is an Alveraz Blues Jumbo with F holes.

LBJ, I miss that blue one. Mr Ovation owns it now. I missed my chance to reunite with it at the NW gathering, but I'm sure I'll see that thing again.

They are nice guitars for sure. Fingers just seem to fly over that fretboard.

CS, that's how it's been for me and my UKII for 25 years now.

I've always had a soft spot for Carvins. Made in the USA (except for the Cobalts...although they're nice too), and at a really great price. I hope to own one (or two) some day.

ok. today i had quite rare oppourtunity to test my Carvin against other high end instruments, and result was REALLY good.
i compared it to following guitars:
MusicMans:
Axis Sport, Steve More Signature, Van Halen Signature, LUKE.
Bryan Moore C90
Tom Anderson's (4 guitars, i don't know model names)
James Tyler's (3 guitars).

Music Mans got killed by every guitar in competition, except LUKE which was actually a pretty good guitar.
Other three were clearly behind.
Carvin sounded better than C90, and 3 of Tom Anderson's. It holded it's own agaisnt another, but i have to admit that this one Anderson was really good.

Tyler's were a bit better than rest of the pack, with one REALLY stellar guitar, for whom friend traded 2 Deluxe Player's strat's because this Tyler sounded more like Strat, than those Fenders.

amps and equipment used for comparision was also a 1st class.
Bogner Ecstasy 100b Head & cab, Budda head&cab, Fender Twin Reverb combo, Hughes & Kettner Tube 50 combo, Mesa Boogie Road King head & cab, and a lot of effects etc.
additionally, AER 60 compact was used for listening to piezo sound from selected guitars.

it was fun to play on those guitars, and meet with 2 great guitarists with whom we've performed the test (one of them was amazed with my Carvin, and talked to 2nd - owner of most of these stuff so we could compare it to other guitars).
however, either i got exceptionally well built guitar or Carvin really makes such a stellar instruments for low price.
