My beautiful and great sounding w591 is for sale. Optima preamp and pickup is less than a year old. This is the single sound hole version of the w597, which was distributed mostly in Japan. I believe it was made in 1999. It is slightly different that others I have see in that the end of the fretboard is concave rather than covex in shape and has a different (perhaps custom) rosette. Great shape. I has a small dent in the side of the fretboard at B fret - just cosmetic. Otherwise excellent +. Case has a crack at the bottom, otherwise it's very nice. $900 shipped. See pics onlink below.

Prairie, how would you compare the sound of your
w591 to your 1651 Legend? Was the rossette a factory option?

Unplugged the 1651 is superior as you would think it would be with the 27 year old AAA spruce top. But plugged in - the Adamas is a very powerful instrument and outperforms the Legend hands down. The Optima preamp is versatile and excellent overall.

Oh, the rosette. I cant answer this question. I did not buy this guitar new. But here is a link to some photos of anothe w591. They say that one is a 2000. Notice the end of the fretboard and that rosette. The fretboard shape on mine is puzzling as all the photos I have seen of other 591's is like the Elderly instrument. According to the serial number,(15851) mine is a 1999, the first year of production. Could this be a prototype, customized or were they just different in 1999?

I've seen one with a rossette like yours before, don't remember where, probably on ebay. There were CVT-top (cross weave carbon) and SMT-top (unidirectional) center hole Adamas'.
Yours is a CVT. The center-hole A's didn't come up on ebay that often, but when they did they usually sold well, until recently. There was one a few months ago that didn't receive any bids.
