Joined: July 2005 Posts: 92 Location: Northeast Ohio | Good morning everyone,i have for sale a pair of matching Elites, a 6 string and a 12 string. The 6 string is a model 1718 and the 12 is a 1758. They are the black versions. They are both completely original and play perfectly. The 1718 is a 1988 model with serial # 370xxx. I got this one off of Old Man Arthur a while back and it has some deep grooves in the fretboard at the 2nd and 3rd frets at the 1st ,2nd, and 3rd string areas.Caused by a previous owner before OMA who didn't trim his fingernails. Anyway you cannot feel them while you are playing. It also has a small 3" finish crack right below the bridge. Still a beautiful guitar and what a cannon unplugged. Action is excellent - frets have about half left - OP24 works as it should. Not a collectors piece but a real player. The 1758 is a 1987 model with serial # 363xxx. This beauty is as clean as you are going to find of this year. This is a true closet classic. I am the second owner and there is not a ding, crack, or scratch on this baby. The sound, action and playability are perfect. It would be hard to find a nicer example of this 12 string. I truly believe that the non cutaway Elites are Ovation's finest wood topped models ever. Just my opinion. Both guitars come with OHSC in excellent condition. One case is a 9 out of 10 and the other is a 8 out of 10 only due to one of the metal feet is missing. I'm offering to the club here first hoping that they stay in the family and go to someone i know will appreciate them. Hoping also to keep them together so if someone is interested in both i'm going to throw in some extras. Included : 2 guitar stands - Seiko electronic guitar tuner model ST-388 - 2 books by Tom Wheeler a 1974 hardbound edition of "The Guitar Book" and a softbound edition of "American Guitars an Illustrated History"and some other assorted goodies i might find as i clean out my parts/supply box. Quite a nice package. Asking $ 1100.00 + $75.00 shipping anywhere in the continental U.S. Thank you | ||
