Hey guys, I am curently working with woody on a trade and am look at getting a viper or preacher on my end. The problem is I have never played either one. I am hoping that maybe one of the members in the southern cal area mainly Los Angeles, or north Orange county may either:

A) Own one of these that you wouldn't mind letting a talentless hack try on for size for a few minutes (who knows there might be a beer in it for you!) to get the feel of what they are like/sound like or

B) Know a store that may have one or both.

So far I can't find any in the Burbank area where I work or antelope valley where I live. Any help referrals would be appreciated.

Careful Mario, offering free beer to this crowd is like offering porterhouse to pitbulls: better have plenty...lol
Best wishes: I have a UK II and love it: both of the guitars you are concidering are great guitars and you are buying from a great fellow (who now has the "big head"..lol)
Enjoy!

What Mario needs is an Ovation Intervention Squad to descend on him and treat him to a few of the many flavors you have on your walls.

I say intervention because when people are seeking these Ovations, Adamas' and Hamers and come up dry they are likely to run into a lot of the "less scrupulous" Dealers and ridiculous products. Don't let the Dark side take him!

If he's willing to deal with me you know he's already on the downhill slide! Help the Brother from another Mother!

And he did say he'd buy the Beer...

If stock, the Preachers have humbuckers whereas the Vipers have single coils. The bodies look different but feel similar as do the necks. I prefer the Viper if only

In stock condition, the Preachers have humbuckers whereas the Vipers have single coils. The bodies look different but feel similar when played, although the Preacher may be just a bit more comfy with its contour cut for the forearm. The necks feel the same. My personal preference is the Viper, if for no other reason than the single coils.
