Joined: April 2008 Posts: 498 | Char's back in the hospital, and I'm trying to keep our head's above water. I just had to sell the '82 collectors that Al gave me for the e-bay sales and help unloading some of his guitars to help keep his head above water.. anyway enough boring details. 68/69 K1115-4, fully restored shiny bowl 12 w/FD14 electronics and in excellent condition, comes with hardshell case in fair condition. $625 shipped conus. I will ship internationally to members here. Before restoration picture: After Restoration Picture: Look at it this way... with this one gone, there's no reason for me to stick around or continue to get on anyone's nerves... This 12fret 12string is spectacular, and John and Kim did a wonderful job of bringing it back to life and re-creating and bringing life back to an exceptional 12 string. and the FD14 preamp and electronics are really something else. It's been fun here for the most part, and when it wasn't, I usually deserved it. anyway, I have to sell it, nothing else left and I'm down to selling computer parts and old vacuum tubes... and I have a jerk e-bay buyer in Croatia jerking me and my money around... Thanks for the consideration, I guarantee you won't be disappointed in this 12 string. I'll get another O or A someday.... right now just have to keep the bills paid. Glenn

I apologize. Glenn | ||

I really need to sell this one guys, if you know anyone interested in a stellar 12 fret shiny bowl vintage 12 string, please let me know... the restoration and repair and refurbishment work done at the mother ship was $550 dollars in and of itself, not counting my purchase price on the guitar... and as usual, John and Kim did a magical and beautiful job on this one. Thanks, Glenn

Glenn, Sorry for the down turn and don't think you are not welcome here, guitars or not! Just don't tell us if you end up with a Yamaha starter kit! When the 12 sells, it has to sell.. please.. Someone.. I will be down to the Turser Proto that Brett Maxed out for me(makes high end LP's and PRS's cry amazing guitar but only part out of the Turser Samick factory left on it is the neck/body)one of a kind neck through, also when he did the Nitro-Vipertron for Al(another fantastic job), and was supposed to complete the Rebuild on the UKXII in a much more professional manner than I was able to produce with my meager skills(Sorry AJ I tried really hard)... but then he flaked out stole a bunch of my vintage pickups and controls, and couldn't get any of the further work completed, and actually had to go retrieve the remaining parts and unfinished guitars, with a Sheriff on standby... so did about 5 other people in town, including Howie.. another day in the life.. The Turser will keep me noodling on the electric, and Al has loaned me my old Crate CA125 for a home amp, not a bad loaner and great coffee houser, he may have another O 6 I can borrow, but he's had to sell about 95% percent of his collection which was quite nice and totally my fault(I gave him the Gas, only had a closet wood box 6 till I showed him my first couple of O's)... I'll probably ask to use the midi balladeer and the Charvel unit.. I know he still has that.. shallow bowl, but plugged in what's the difference, I should be able to get the shadow unit running with my EMU midi, the OP24 still works fine, and if not will keep me occupied at least for a while trying to find work arounds.. I'll have at least one guitar in the house, the wife would prefer it be an acoustic or ae, but what I have will work, I can always play through the headphones and leave her out of it.. but she does like my acoustic playing, at least she says so.. She's a keeper. Thanks, Glenn

Joined: April 2008 Posts: 498 | here's my remaining kit, and I really can't complain, it's nice old and reliable gear. 1st generation CA125 3 channel triamp with spring reverb and chorus, parametric eq, sweepable notch, and send return and xlr out.. Korg Super Drum Rhythm machine(simple but does the job and can handle long sequences), and a Yamaha emp100 for any other effects or delay I might want. don't need the music room any more, it all fits nicely into a corner. got the nice stools from one of our freecyclers. Just got off the phone with Al, and he said I could borrow the M771 and the Charvel box for a while, and he also said he still had my old 1615 that's just stored away... so guess I'll have some O's to play after all. Thanks Buddy! Glenn

Joined: April 2008 Posts: 498 | Jim returned from his camping trip, and had a little surprise with his plumbing at the house and so, no trader action, and Jim I hope you get it repaired soon... septic issues down here are a problem.. and sometimes not cheap to remedy. anyway the 12 is still available, and I thought I would add that when the restoration was originally done, it was as an acoustic only, and it was shipped back to me as a straight acoustic.. and that was what I paid the fees mentioned above for. great job, and just as nice as all of the Shiny reissues that were just turned out. one of the X-braces on the new top/bowl assembly developed a small split or crack, when it was shipped down.. or soon after, and I sent it back up to have the Brace rr'd... I called John while it was there and inquired about having electronics installed, and what the pricing would be for the FD14 install, and then we had discussions about the battery installation as he and Kim were concerned about scratching or chipping the bowl installing the battery box in the bottom like on the FD... so I asked if they could wire it vintage style and they decided it was a great idea and did the custom install that way... and they repaired/replaced the x-brace did the great preamp installation on it.. and sent the guitar back to me... When I called to ask John about the charges for the preamp/pickup/jack and custom installation they did.. his response was.." Sorry you had the brace problem, talk to you again soon Glenn." no charge for the line driver, as I've said before... Best Customer Service on the Planet! Thanks guys... isn't there anyone here interested in this? Jim would have had it by Wed.. but he has kind of a S#$$#%#tty situation at the house right now. Glenn

Joined: April 2008 Posts: 498 | when I got it in the condition in the first picture, it arrived with no label inside or ser # even on the neckblock... the members here and customer service helped to date it by it's components and determined it to be a transitional/changeover model from the k series shiny bowls to the regular 1115s and when switching over from the small inlaid rosette and hole to the larger acrylic mop rosette... It was a great player when I got it, but had top through cracks, and a lot of finish cracks, and the action at the 12th was over 1/4"..... It is a truly wonderful 12, and they just installed the current model label as they could not positively identify the serial or year.. or was just simpler that way... the newer label is ok with me. Joined: April 2008 Posts: 498 | Now Down to $550 shipped/insured Conus.. this is just the cost of the restoration/rebuild and does not include the FD14 ELX upgrade.... or the cost of the guitar when purchased. This is as low as it's gonna go... if no takers here, will have to take it up to the pawnbrokers for a loan until things get better. Char is recovering well, and is stronger everyday, and all of the bone healing in the chest will be complete in another 3 weeks or so.., and then just have to work on her endurance and stamina as the grafts in the heart continue to heal. we have to go to her GP for her follow up on Wed, and then another 430 mile round trip up to Gainesville on Friday.... for a 20-30 minute checkup and some more tests... Thanks, Glenn PS... Thanks Johnny(iffy) for the loan of the 1763 classic... it arrived today! very much appreciated. It will be loved and cared for... Thanks Again!
