| The Standard Elites are listed at musicians friend at the same price. Can someone help me figure out the differences between the two?
The only thing I can determine is one (6778) is a AA Sitka spruce and the other (2778) is a A spruce. I can't find any info on where either is manufactured.
The Ovation site does not have any info on the 2778. I want to make sure I make the right choice.
Thanks in advance.
Tom
I'm new to the guitar (7 months) and mainly a strummer and flat picker. I like to play classic rock and pop. |

2778 is the newer Contour bowl which has a more sculpted shape to feel more like a regular wooden back guitar. |

That right there, assumming the price is the same makes for a good start re: your decision.
I beleive you were the one who posted on the AGF. Not sure but 1 may be a round back vs a Contour bowl.
I mentioned I had a 1777LX legend and in fact my Legend is the 2077LX contour bowl.Hands down ANY USA made O will be the best bang for your buck especially at the prices they are going for currently.I paid 1100.00 for my 1778LX Elite and would gladly pay that again if I was to buy another one.
AND one more BIG plus buying and Ovation. You get to hang with all the CRAZIES on this site!!!!
:D ;) :D ;) :D ;) |

The contour bowl will probably have some more volume to it. They're both single A I believe. The bowl is the only difference (again, I think)
From ovation's site:
