Yup, here's a piece of history. The original Kluson tuners taken right off Balladeer serial no. 118.
- Excellent condition, work perfectly
- No tarnish or rust
- Split post design for idiot proof stringing
- All hardware included
Yes, you can buy these new today. But where are you gonna find ones built right onto one of the earliest ever Balladeers. Installed by skilled craftsmen who probably had no clue there would be more than a half million ovations to follow ...
NO, your eyes do NOT deceive you. There are only FIVE tuners. One was slightly bent and I tried to force it back straight and POW it broke right off. So I replaced the whole set and these are the 5 remaining good ones. Plus the mounting hardware for all six.
Why would you want 5 tuners? Well other than the obvious historical significance, maybe you like I did something stupid. Or will. Never hurts to have a backup plan. You could part these out and sell them individually on ebay and probably turn a profit. By the way, they are exactly the SAME tuners as was used on the Tornado guitar and on the 2006 Balladeer K1111 reissue.
Anyway, there you have it. Ovation history for the taking.

I've got two 70's Storms in the house - perhaps I should snag them as backups...but maybe someone else really NEEDS them... |
