Not mine but if it wasn't so expensive (yeah yeah I know) I would dearly love to have this. Been after a SSB Adamas for a while and this is the first I've seen. Anyhow bid away...

Actually the reserve is £2000, that's about $2800 then add on the shipping from Ireland!

The guys living in a dream world, you can buy a Adamas I AND Adamas II for that price - ho, ho, ho!

Haven't priced one, but for those of us in the Colonies, I'm thinking we could have Mom build us one for just about the reserve. These 1881's are probably the best SSB available.

That's roughly 2 grand American for a starting bid.

Optimistic even during good times.

I was thinking yesterday that if I had to sell mine I could get $1200 on a good day.

I've seen them go for as much as $1,400. I think I paid about $1,000 for mine, possibly a bit more. I submitted what I thought was a lowball offer on eBay amd the seller accepted it. Looking back on how much I've enjoyed this model, and if I had to do it again, I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. But at $2,000, I'd call Al and order a custom, possibly with a wide neck and slothead config.

Since I see one in your sig I'm guessing you bought it...

I thought you didn't like black guitars?

I've learnt to have an open mind, the 1680 taught me that ;)

And as others have pointed out the Adamas black isn't really black. :p

As I said in another post Adrian Legg had a black SSB Adamas (albeit a custom one with an ebony fretboard etc) so just had to try one. Sad I know.

Speaking of your sig Dweez, how did they ship that 97? Strapped to the back of a tortoise? When's that one getting to you?

It's currently residing at my friends in Austin, TX. He said he was going to bring it over but his trip has been cancelled so wondering what to do now. It's been too long thats for sure!
