After giving it some thought, I am going to put out a feeler to see if there is a market for a nice 1537 at $750 plus shipping. Mine is natural and original in condition with the original case.

It has a couple of very minor issues.

1) Finish crack in the upper rear bout. Definately NOT through the wood.
2) two small dings in the finish, maybe 2mm in size.
3) Missing one of the markers for the knobs (I will throw in some adamas markers).
4) someone had drilled a small hole to relocate the tail strap pin. I put it back to it's original location and used a black plastic plug in the hole. you have to look to see it.

The guitar is set up nice, plays great and sounds awesome. The gold hardware shows no signs of pitting or corrosion.

If you have an interest pm or email me and I will get some pictures for you.

I am just selling as I feel guilty having it sit there not getting played. My 2008C is the only acoustic I pick up any more. I have owned it for 15 or so years and bought it from the original owner.

Must mean something that my 750th post is the asking price? :D

Then it would have been $1000 (back when people were paying that for them). :D

Now is definitely the time to buy, not sell. Prices of guitars in general are blowing my mind.

ditto the captain. Selling a 1537 for $750 a year ago would have been absolutely insane.

Hey 1537 guys...
My original 1537 though a bit worse for wear in the cosmetic dept still plays true, and clean!

A few years ago I picked up another in a pawn shop for only a few bucks to use as my knock about but the electronics didn't work. I knew that going in. Now however, I would like to get it fixed. Where can I buy electronics to install myself (which I am capable of doing) and do you recommend going back original or upgrading?

I like 1537's and I like the not-so-minty as well.

The Mothership has the two-knob package in new, updated condition and I would consider it the only way to go.
