Location: Utica, NY | They're also available on e-bay from the same seller but not sure how the pricing works out. I have a set of Templeman walnut buttons fresh off of my 1680 Schaller slot head tuners. I am not sure if ther are compatible with the Grover tuners you have though. Perhaps someone will know. They look to be nearly new and have had no 'treatments' (wax, lacquer, poly, etc) to darken them.
I apologize for the crappy pic taken with my web cam but my 'real' camera is not due back until the end of July. But you get and idea of color. If you find that these might work send me a private e-mail and we can talk more about it. |

Paul doesn't recommend using wax to darken the buttons (although I used a tiny amount of wax with no ill effect) as it may cause the buttons to swell. He suggests a bit of varnish. |

Location: Scotland | a little wax is fine, it's oil I wouldn't recommend, as too much could cause problems with the fit of metal bushing. Varnish is OK. Randy (Lanaki) used some kind of spray lacquer which worked really well. Can't remember exactly what he used, maybe he can remind us
BTW, My buttons aren't compatible with Grover Rotomatics. |
