It is in excellent condition, with Spruce top, multi-ply banding, Floral Rosette, 2" nut, 12 frets free to body, engraved tuners with scalloped buttons. Deep bowl with shiny finish. Nice hard case included.. $950 or best. I will have pictures available soon.

A bit of early 'O' history! A buddy of mine has a fine one with the older rosette: Good luck with your sale...

Joined: August 2002 Posts: 8307 Location: Tennessee | M.R. - it is tough on guitars over there. My son had his J-200 over there ... the first tour he got damage to the lower bout due to a mortar strike (think Trigger), and on the second tour the neck turned into a pretzel. The heat and lack of any humidity is a guitar killer. Some might consider it a terrible loss ... he thought it was a great investment based on how much it meant to him and his buddies when they could just relieve the stress by enjoying some music. So with that said, you need to have a guitar over there. Old Man Arthur's Academy (on the For Sale tab), or something similar, might be the just the ticket. Tell us your situation ... we'd love to help out a brother if we could.

I was formerly Active Duty in the Marine Corps and in Combat operations during the "1st Gulf War" in 1990, and here I am 19 years later, playing around in the sand again. I carried my 88 with me on several deployments but they were when I was aboard a ship (The Navy is the Marine Corps' taxi service). I'm bummed because so far I've only found one guy I can occasionally bum a guitar off of, but I've been scouring ebay for an inexpensive Ovation. Because of the climate, I want cheapo that I don't have to really worry too much about. I'll find something eventually I'm sure. If somebody has a cheapo Ovation they want to get rid of or know of somebody, I'll sure take advantage of an opportunity to buy one. I've just gotten to where I hate playing flat-backs and I'm hoping I won't have to resort to getting one. Michael
