Location: Corning, NY | OK...I'll expand the possibilities for trades...I'm willing to take trades for lower value 6 strings + cash or gear, too. Again, I prefer center hole guitars--non-black, too. I also like low wattage tube amps and I need a nice looper like the digitech jamman or the boss equivalent. And if anybody has a nice tele thinline or, even better, a b-bender I'd be very interested.

Location: Corning, NY | For the record, my wife says the ongoing saga of this guitar is driving her batty. It's traded, then it's not traded. It's sold, then it's not sold. Then it's traded again, and then not, and so on and on and on it goes. :rolleyes:
So...if only for the sake of my wonderful wife's mental health, somebody please make me a fair trade offer for this beautiful guitar (trade value is $950)...or buy it. The sale price is still firm at $750 shipped conUS for OFCers (PayPal extra 3%)--if she found out I undersold it, that would definitely not help her mental health or my health, period. :eek: :D |

If there's one thing you should know, it's easier once she's full-fledged batty like the rest of us are. Then she gets a good name (formerfortune maybe?) and starts posting. It's really only getting there that's a trial. |

Location: Corning, NY | It still has the OP-24 preamp-3 band eq and no tuner. In hindsight, I should have paid to upgrade it (refurbing the original OP-24 was still under warranty) because it would be nice to have a built-in tuner on a 12-string, but I do love the sound of the OP-24 pre-amp. I usually use a clip on chromatic tuner, which is pretty quick, and this guitar holds tuning very, very well.

Location: Corning, NY | Why does the perception that Ovations are difficult to play seated persist so strongly? :confused: I just had a guy back off from a trade (after seeming very excited about it) because he heard Ovations are only comfortable standing up. I didn't realize he had never tried one before.
I think the deep bowls are more comfortable than than a hard edged wood box guitar. The shallow bowls are made for stand-up, plugged-in playing, but I think the mid-depth and deep bowls are great for both. |

Location: Bellevue, Washington | I don't know why some people have such a hard time sitting and playing these guitars, maybe just different folks posture and/or old habits? I don't have any issues sitting and playing any of these guitars, super shallows included, and I agree with you that my deep bowl feels more comfortable in my lap than the woodback guitars.
Different strokes I guess, though if people would just try one out they'd probably find that they like it just fine! |

It's no longer for sale.
I played it again tonight for the first time in awhile and, while I really, really, really do need a 6 string that plays just as well as this 12 does, I just can't let this one go. Paul (moody), you are absolutely right. I'd be nuts to get rid of this guitar. Thank you. I really had a hard time even putting it down tonight.
As it happens, just last evening a project came up where I'll be playing more acoustic than electric, so I'd really be foolish to get rid of it. |
