Wasn't able to get the down payment out.... Char's been back in the hospital twice in the past 40 days so discretionary funds are at a minimum.... her kidneys are finally giving up with the pckd, and getting her ready and stable to get her started on the dialysis routine, and the cognition/memory issues are much worse, the stroke symptoms are progressing.

Dave(seller) also raised the price by 200 dollars on the guitar... he had it first listed at 650 w/free shipping, then after talking with me he raised it to 675+shipping, now it's at $800 with free shipping....

I have a new label for it that John made for me at the mothership. so if anyone here wins it, let me know... I'll send you the label for inside the bowl, it's a new-style white label with the factory on it. with the model # on it. 1769-5GC.... wish I would have been able to swing it.. but that's how it goes.

Caravan Roubishe, you may now go ahead and get your shots, snide comments, and sick statements out.... my only wish is that you and yours would have to endure the natural disasters, death's, suicides, and catastrophic illnesses that Char and I have had to over these past 6 years.... maybe then you'd figure out what compassion or care was.

This Custom Legend is very Nice, Fred was nice enough to check it out for me, but Life, Death, and illness got in the way. We've been to 3 funerals in 2 months, plus Char's hospital stays, and the unsolved murder in the Apartment right next door..

Regards,

Glenn

Sorry to hear Char is still struggling. She has had a tough go it it to say the least. I was looking at the add and did a search on this forum for the model number and came up with your original posts and it all came back to me. Hang in there.

You know, when I was a little girl, no one, with the exception of a few Cather fans, had ever heard my name "Willa" before. Now, ions later, it seems it's all over the place. For the record, the "Willa" selling this guitar is not ME. I state this only because I am a member of this forum, and I don't want you all to think I own a pawn shop selling Ovations! Various other forum members often think I'm a guy named "Will A.", anyaway, haha.

Oh, Miles, when I was a kid, I HATED when kids called me "Wilma" ... it was really mostly associated with the Flintstones in my young brain, and hell if I knew any "Freds"!

My mamma is a southerner, and when she gets mad at me she still barks: "Willa Jean"! Geesh. And some people call me Laura when I tell them my name; I guess they think I have a speech impediment, haha. But I don't! Ask MusicMishka or Patch; they'll tell you!

Glenn, so sorry for your troubles. I know first hand what it is like for medical tragedies to infect a life.

Who knows? Maybe someone on this forum will buy that guitar and it will end up in your hands one day after all. Unanswered prayers and all that. Ya never know ...

God bless you and yours.

;)

Thank you for the kind words Willa,

the guitar would have been nice to have, and I had part of the moneys set aside, but then Char started regressing again and I just had to hang on to what little we have left.

but my unanswered prayers would be for my wife to have all her mental faculties back, and her to continue to recover from her surgeries and her bypass so we could have some of our future back and our remaining time together a little less stressful and more productive and happy. I'm tired of bureaucracies and hospitals and jumping through hoops just so she gets proper care and we can keep a roof over our heads and food on the table.

very generous members here have loaned me 2 very nice guitars, as I've had to sell all that I had, Johnny loaned me his beautiful 1763, and Al(slydog) has loaned me a 1615, and he also traded me the 1651-7 for a computer/daw workstation I've been building for a couple years.... and I am having to sell that one, along with an amplifier so that I can keep the lights on and the rent paid... They're on e-bay and craigslist now... and have been listed here for a while.

We're grateful for the prayers, friendship, and well-wishes and support through all of this from the time the kids died in the lake up to now and through Char's heart attack, stroke, and surgeries.

I've met a few of you in person, and all I've met have been great people, and I seem to know many of you well from my years here on the forum... I thank you all for your friendship and tolerance. it is greatly appreciated and meaningful to both of us.

Thanks for being here for us... and please keep the prayers and well-wishes coming for Char, she seems to be fading further and further away daily, and there's nothing I can do. I just have to keep a smile on my face, hold tight to her, and take care of her and love her as best I can.

again Thank You.

Glenn

Johnny, you are so d@mn funny! I'm still cracking up about (paraphrasing here) "sticking your head up your @ss to see if your heart was in the right place"!

I knew all along that it was.

Alison, if a guy named Barney walks in, watch yourself, girl.

Glenn,

Hang in there. It doesn't sound like it's going to get any easier, but I hope you get all the help you need and have the strength to keep going.

We've been going to Stroke survivors and family support groups occasionally, and I've been going to groups for surrogate care givers, but we're pretty much home-bound during the summer because she can't handle the extreme heat here in FL and it doesn't mix well with some of the 17 diff meds she's on..

I hope that your struggles are lesser than ours, and that you and yours find peace, recovery, and continued happiness.... start networking now, and hopefully you have a better family support system than she and I do.

I Love both her and my children with all my heart, all seven of them... but their lack of concern or willingness to assist or help in any way just bewilders me... they were raised better than the way they're acting, and I get more support and assistance from my buddy AL and our freecyclers, than from our own family.

Brain Injury, Stroke, Alzheimer's, Heart attacks, surgeries, and cancers, are all scary things.... but none of her ailments are contagious.

Again, Our best to you and yours, and may serenity and recovery and happiness stay with you.

Glenn

You know, it would do us ALL a lot of good to remember that no matter if the economy stinks and the car needs a tune-up and your sister-in-law is giving you a hard time over something and you just stubbed your toe...none of that matters if you have good health and your loved ones do too. Having helped my Mom through alzheimers, I know how devastating it is to watch someone you love become someone other than herself. My heart goes out to both of you, and you will be in my prayers.
