I'm not a marketing genius (and I'm guessing you're not either) but I'm not sure calling this fine guitar "Frankenstein" or "Mutt" is helping the cause. I prefer to think of it as a custom built, one of a kind guitar that improved on the original design by adding a wide(r) neck. How can you make a better guitar for finger picking? The cedar top is beautiful and flawless and the tone is sooooo sweet. Great job by the mother ship! Remarkable craftsmanship. Jim

And Jim, sorry about the reference to a monster, but it is that way in the tone department. I agree, it turned out much better than I thought it would at first conception. The term "mutt" was used VERY affectionately. :D

The FUD would complete my Big 3, only to be followed by the 1681, the 2080, a Ute12, a BW Ltd, then a couple of Tak's, then a AAAAuuuuggghhhh...!! Good luck, Jim. The FD14's are spectacular guitars and whoever grabs this will be a lucky player.

Simply because it is a great guitar and moreover, it has the wider neck which suits me being used to classical guitar. Timing was off by 9 months or so. +1 TJ's comment on keeping it rather than selling. This is the only Ovation I am keeping other than my Patriot (if I get it back from a GOOD friend of mine, ever)
