Location: Houston | I stupidly sold my 1863 (6-string, nylon, single-cutaway) to a friend and really miss not having a nylon strung guitar anymore. This is especially the case, as the guitar had a narrower neck than the standard classical and was a beautiful guitar. The particulars:
Nylon-String Acoustic/Electric
Body Type: S/Shallow Cutaway
Top: AA Grade Solid Cedar Top
Bracing: Ovation Classic
Scale Length: 26 3/16
Fretboard: Walnut
Fret Inlay: None
Bridge: Walnut
Rosette: Inlaid Oakleaf
Pickup: Ovation High Output
Nutwidth: 2
Machines: Gold with Pearl
I can't seem to figure out what guitar Ovation makes that replaces this. I want the super shallow bowl again. Anyone one know which guitar replaced this, or know of someone looking to sell an 1863?

Location: Indiana | 2 inch nutwidth doesn't meet your description of a "narrower neck".
2" is the widest Ovation width, if I'm not mistaken.
If you mean even narrower, you might be looking for a Country Artist @ 1-7/8. |

Location: the BIG Metropolis of TR | The 1863 is known as a Legend Classic, and yes it has a 2" nutwidth (same as all Ovation Classics and like Jon said, the widest Ovation makes)
They made a 1674 Country Artist (for two years '83-'84) with a 1 7/8" nut, cutaway, and an Artist bowl (2 1/8" deep?)which later became known as the Mid-Depth bowl on the newer Country Artist and Folklores. |
