Great price, too. Go Team!

How do these compare to the textured top Adamas guitars, and why did they discontinue them??? Also... How would you rate them in comparison to a good Elite?

The 1597 does not sound aywhere near as good as my 1581 textured top acoustically, but the 1581 has a deep bowl, so that's an apple/orange. Plugged in they are close enough to pass a blindfold test. The 1597 blows the 1581 away for looks. The 1597 blew away the 6778LX Elite in both modes. That's why my Elite was sold. The 1597 and 2009C are about equal in tonal quality, but different sounds come from each. Contour vs. mid bowl, wood vs. carbon. Both are stunning lookers. I'm keeping them both. I have not had a chance to compare a textured top to the 1598 but it would be a tall order to beat the sound that comes from that 1598. It is the nicest sounding guitar I have ever heard.

The sound is very well balanced, each note is clear and crisp and for this price, it's worth it--and there were lots of guitars here last weekend to compare it to. :D (They do have the "v" neck, though, so if you are into the "c"-shaped necks they do feel different.) If it had a "c" neck, I wouldn't have thought twice--it'd be gone by now. --Karen
