In looking at the guitar, it seems to have been refurbished at the MS: newer bowl/top/bridge, etc.
Seems that the label is the only thing (perhaps the neck and case also) that is original...
Cool video though...

Nice, but a bit rich-for-my-blood.

Nice Pic; thanks Karl ... and nice score; thanks Mike for posting.
Mike I think you are right on the refurbishing, but why do not restore it to the original "shine" ?

Sound clip by Al Petteway playing the guitar is nice.

So I'm guessing that when Josh wore out the first one they "upgraded" to the later bridge and such - which was considered to be a good thing?

Should have set the original aside and had a new one made - which would have made it a Josh owned but not "THE" original.

Naaaaah

Its like the joke in a British TV show whereby one of the characters is talking about a broom he's had for 25 years, he then adds I've changed the handle and head a few times over the years though :-)

If I had read a little more closely and been able to get the pic's to enlarge (having a bit of trouble using firefox on the laptop...it works fine but the MS Apps don't recognize it) I'd have seen that the original top is still there: so perhaps the original bowl is as well: just painted w/a textured finish now...too bad...
Yes Stephen, Al Petteway can certainly play...check out his playing on the Ryan they have for sale (ohh, the GAS...).
These folks have some fabulous guitars: Randy (Lanaki) first told me about them several years ago...they aren't far away: couple of hours...

The Australian version is about Grandpa's axe which he's had for 50 years - he's changed the handle 8 times and the head 3 times.

I think it looked better with the five point bridge; why would they change it like that? I mean, considering he is a legend and all, they should have kept it as original as possible.

My mom turned all of us kids on to Josh White ... she has excellent taste in music.

;)

Isn't that Trigger?
Also noted for always calling Rodney 'Dave'. One of the great characters on TV
