I also have the matching Ovation case in great condition. What I'd really like is for someone local to buy it so they can try it and appreciate it for what it is. I know the PG may not please some of you, but I have the original (though it has a lot of scratches from playing). The custom PG cost me almost $100. I have owned this since the early 80's. It had some gritty tuners when I got it, and I actually got a complete new set from Ovation's NOS. I hate to sell off some of my instruments, but I have developed terrible pain in my left index finger, and the Dr's cannot fiture it out. Been over a year, and they say it's not arthritis, but no clue. I have plenty of guitars, and I will never sell my 1768 or 1858, but I just don't play this one. I always loved the look and feel of it though. I want $625 for it and will ship for $25 in the US (ground only). If you are not happy with it, I will refund all but shipping if returned to me withing 10 days of receiving. I'm located in Northern VA if you want to come try, before you buy. Plug it into my Super Reverb, it sounds sweet. Gary Click Here for more photos

Sorry to hear about the finger ... hope you get it figured out soon and get back to playing. That's a real nice one there. Pearloid pickguards and I have a thing for each other. I gotta ponder this one ... sure would make a nice counterpoint to my hog/ebony Viper.

Besides my Ovations, I have aquired a few Custom Carvin guitars. I have even build a few of their kits. The last one was a Walnut Bolt Plus. I love the look, but it weighs a ton! I'm going to sneak over there one evening and get this finger checked out! I can't believe the Dr. has not approved one yet. My Walnut Carvin Bold Plus Kit

I would like to get a stock black pickguard and the factory is out of them. If you find a buyer for your guitar and they are happy with the pearloid pickguard (I think it looks great), I would be interested in buying the original from them if they want to help subsidize their Viper purchase! I'm assuming the original for your guitar is black. Thanks and good luck with your sale! If anyone else has a line on a black Viper factory pickguard please drop me a line. triceratops

I've been having a lot of pain there (makes me dread barre chords), and finally realized it hurt worst when I was crouched down putting wood in the stove, with my hand splayed out to steady myself. Then I remembered it started right after I put down some cove base in my wife's shop. I was leaning on that hand for about 3 hours. It's hurt ever since. Hope you get some relief!

My son was flying back from the East Coast on the 20th to be home for Christmas break and was lucky to be able to get his flight. There were lots of cancellations. Glad everything worked out for your son's wedding. Congrats to your family and best wishes for the holidays.
