Location: CA | All your points regarding contour backs are well taken. I happen to be skinny and my bod doesn't fit the contour. I realize I'm in the minority. And if I could afford to order a custom-made Ovation, I would.
But I don't quite get the notion that the contour appeals to the masses. If that were so, why aren't all the Applause and Celebs contour backs? |

Location: Canada | when I mention that I have a contoured back ovation, people look at me like I have 3 heads. Unless they are an Ovation fan, nobody even seems to realize that they exists.
Personally, coming from someone with an odd rib injury, I find them very comfortable as a wooden guitar cuts into my chest. And no, I am not over weight....yet. |

As I posted back in January of 2005 when I layed my eyes in the first Contour Bowl "This will revolutionize Ovation and will make the rounded back obsolete".
That process is now well underway with Korean made models sporting Contour Bowls and the new standard continues to trickle down through the product line. |
