The 5749 was produced at about the same time but in far fewer numbers (8-12 units?). It and the PPG3 used the OCP-1 (707400 & 704600) pickup and were mostly shipped to Japan. There were 5 parlors produced as far as I know; the 5741, 2 variations (wide and narrow neck) of the '97 Collector, the PPG3 and the 5749.

When were they produced? Were they available in the US or only overseas? Do you know of anyone who has any of these 3?

They also had a ukulele sized version in the same color, and of course I bough the uke. These models were not marketed in the US. There is also a version of the P778 with Koa top and Palm Tree shaped soundholes (and matching uke). Last I knew Tony C. had a set of these.

P778TQ: 2 built in 1/2000 P778TN: 1 built in 1/2000 P777-4: 1 built 2/2000 P777ANB: 1 built 3/2000 There are no indications that there were any reorders, and they all went to Nakao Japan. I don't imagine I'll be seeing a P777 or P778 here in the US but Dave, if you see another one on a trip to Japan, be sure to let me know...
