I like Rusted Root. 'Living in the land of virtual reality,' 'Big White Bird,' and others.

I haven't heard much from them but what I have heard is great. Is there a CD in their catalog that stands out above the rest?

I first encountered them as a "warm up" band (for the JimmyPage/RobertPlant "Unledded"Tour. Stole the show.

Just saw them last October(or so) at the NokiaTheatre in Manhattan. Great venue/great show!

As far as albums go, I was always partial to "When I Awoke".

Never heard of them. Are they anything like The Carpenters?

And you are a very bad person.

(Is it true that Karen used to turn sideways and stick her tongue out and the audience would chant, "Zip, Zip, Zip."?)

Mama Cass Elliot was Jewish. What do you suppose she was doing eating a ham sandwich? ;)

I'd go for their first CD ... I'm not sure of the title. Years later, around 2002 (I think), one of the songs from that album end up in the soundtrack of the animated film, "Ice Age" -- it about a sabertooth tiger, a sloth, and a wooly mammoth that discovered a lost human infant, and had an adventure by making the quest to return him to his tribe.

I'm just not sure if it's still them who recorded the song in the soundtrack though ... it does sound like Rusted Root, but there was something different about it.
