hi gang.....just wondering if any elite owners have noticed the wood epaulets around the sound holes coming loose from the body. Mine are starting to curl up a bit.. Not too sure what to do about this. thanks for any suggestions.

I see a little lift on my 1537. I've seen several with pieces broken off. I'm not sure of a fix, either.

I noticed that on my CV Viper. Of course the hot iron I sat on top of them and the sharp tool I pushed under them may have had something to do with them just coming off!

funny...I thought about using an iron on permanent press setting but I think I'll just leave it alone for now......I was never a very good ironer anyway...

If it really bugs you, the factory can replace or repair them for a reasonable cost.

Loctite. I had one start peeling up and the good folks here on the board pointed me in that direction and it worked like a charm. Loctite can be had at almost any hardware store. Rumor has it that the factory uses this stuff a lot.

I had a little lift on my Millenium. Used a dab of epoxy and a clamp. Worked great.

Depending on how bad the lift is there's a guy on Amelia island that might be able to do small repairs. Bigger than that send it back to the factory.

my adamas 1681-8 treble side epaulet is lifting, and my 6718-V treble side epaulet just developed a small 1 cm crack from one sound hole to the next.

I might bring in the adamas during the may visit to have john and kim take care of it under warranty. The adamas by ovation plaque on the back is coming off too...

heh.....thanks for the tips...I'll be in Amelia Island May 8th playing a party with my buddy Tom....I'll be using my elite standard...he uses a breedlove focus.....I can say one thing for sure....I can take my O inside with airconditioning or outside with 100% Florida humidity and the damn thing stays in tune. the breedlove goes out of tune if you breath on it....
