Well she came. She is beautiful except for 3 things. She has 3 finish cracks that the seller failed to mention. On on the base side from the bottom about 3" long. Then 2 small ones on either side of the bridge. Of course it could have happened during shipping I guess. I emailed him we will see what he has to say. PLus they said it was unused and there is fret wear. Not a lot. Not sure how that can happen if it is unsed.

Well I looked at the pictures he took for the listing. There were no cracks at all. He had good close pictures of the areas. Nothin. So it must have happened during shipping. My loss I guess. But she sounds sweet. Just anoying that she has these booboo's now.

Finish cracks can occur due to temperature extremes. Whenever I have a guitar shipped in, I bring the box in, and let it sit for a while, then take the case out and let that sit for a while, then crack the case and let it sit. It's several hours before I actually get to touch the guitar. A major PITA and demanding of some serious patience, true. But, I've never had a problem with finish cracks due to temperature.

Sorry to hear it has issues. The fret wear is interesting. Best of luck with it. If it plays well and sounds great, who cares how it looks. :)

Yeah I wonder if I opened her to soon. I waited an hour. Thought that would be enough. It is 50 here today and 65 in my house. Maybe I did it to soon and it is my fault. That makes me feel even worse. Inormally wait 3 hours at least. Well chalk it up to lesson learned. I will never forget it now that I have some visuals to remind me.

Yes she sounds great so I will still use her and enjoy her and try to forget I damaged her.

I would bet a hundred bucks, those cracks did not happen during shipping.

Those are CLASSIC finish stress cracks that usually take months to appear in well seasoned wood (unless you set it front of the wood stove)

Were the strings backed off when you received it? That bridge crack is really suspicious...

I'm with Jeff on this one. The cracks were there before it shipped, I'd bet my left nut on it. Don't roll over and think that you had anything to do with them. This is america, damn it and the other guy is guilty of misrepresentation. So what if you were driving drunk, it's the KIDS fault for skateboarding out in front of you. I'd tell the sell you want your money back, including return shipping fees. He'll not want to go through the hastle and offer to cut you a deal, you watch. The buyer is king. Dave

I was speaking in generalities; 50 to 65 doesn't seem like it'd be a huge deal or potential for cracking the finish.

I'm with cliff, Boney and Dave on this one. They're not from you opening it too soon.

You all are probably right. I took pictures of it and didn't try and hide the cracks. They don't show up. Even when I zoom in. So who knows. His word against mine. But for what I paid for it I got a good deal even with these. It was almost half of what Elderly sold one for last week. SO I am not upset to much. It plays and sounds great. That is what counts. I will take it to practice tomorrow night and see how she sounds plugged in.

Well I told the wife about buying this over the phone tonight. She was OK with it. Go figure women. Maybe I should send her to New Orleans on a mission trip more often.
