Location: Keller, TX | I'm in Honolulu now and have decided to try the Uke. Went down to the local store and bought a $10 toy to play with just to see if I like it. Won't hold the strings in tune.
OK, so I need to put down the money if I really want to do this. Went down to the actual UKE store (that's all they sell). Found an applause Uke for $210 and everything else up to $1500.
Any recommendations? I don't really want to put down $200 for a uke if I decide I don't want it. I'd be willing to waste $50-75 for a decent one then buy a nicer one if I decide to stick with it. Musiciansfriend has a few in this price range. |

Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday, Aloha stadium has a flea market going from about 8am-3pm. 50 cents per person admission to get in. Lots and lots of Ukes being sold for some really decent prices.
Wish you had given me a heads up you were coming, I would have liked to hook up for some strumm'n time. My scheduled pretty busy the next couple days, you may see my big black Coast Guard ship sailing around off Waikiki beach tomorrow...
Enjoy our liquid sunshine :(

Location: Keller, TX | Aloha_Tim, sorry, have the whole family and the wife's brother's whole family. Not getting much personal time. Leaving on Friday. Haven't seen the sun yet. Don't expect I will tomorrow either. Gonna try snorkeling tomorrow.
Dave, I don't think the shop has a Lanikai. I'll probably just pick one up from the bay when I get back home.
Jeff, don't even joke about it. |
