Hello folks,
I do setups and repairs and just got an Elite. I need to buy a truss rod wrench for it. I didn't find one that would work on Stewart Macs site. Where can I get one?

Thanks,

Just get a set of allen wrenches from a hardware store. I'm not sure of the exact size but one in the set will fit.

The nice thing about the Factory wrenches (who named them 'wrenches' anyway? it's just a piece of extruded steel...hmm..)... but I digress.

They're nice because of the extra length, you can get better leverage than a standard size Allen (and who was he anyway, getting a wrench named after him?)....

AHA! Thank goodness for Answers.com, and a fine coincidence as well:
"Allen wrench" was originally a trademark of Allen Manufacturing Company in Hartford, Connecticut in 1943.

And yet another world altering idea springs from the fertile minds of the folks in Hartford.

Pickup a set of hex bit sockets for your 1/4 socket wrench set. You can then use extensions and the ratchet to easily adjust the rod.

I would love to do the tour. I got the DVD and watched it today. That looks neat. But this year it won't wok out. I am planning next year. Man that is a long way off.

I can see this is going to give Dave another idea for a thread like his string tubes and bowl paint threads.

Too much editing on that last response and I don't want to try to fix it again.

So YOU'RE the guy that does the heat treating! Way to go. I always admire the guys "behind the scenes", so to speak. I'll keep EKLIND in mind. Dave

For this alone, I am thankful for this forum.
Though I have a set of Allen wrenches (and some extra ones besides), I didn't have one to adjust the Elite T I had just received. Having the exact size posted here made it extremely easy to go buy the right one--the first time.
Thank you.
