Location: closely held secret | I think it's the angle, plus it looks like the ears have been nicked off a bit...

Location: Spokane, WA | I agree with Waskel, I think it's just a weird camera angle. Plus the guy has pretty good feedback, for whatever that's worth. |

I've done it with a load of logs where it didn't much matter... and the ground shook pretty good! |

It just bugs the hell out of me when I walk into a music store and see guitars strung like this. I'm sure the managers think they are doing the right thing when they tell "whoever" to restring a guitar that has old dead strings on it, but to do it like this is grounds for dismissal in my opinion.
The last time I was in the local GC, I picked up a $3000 Martin that had the strings for the treble side run to the outside of the capstan. Try tuning that!
Hmmm, come to think about it, maybe it was an OFC'er on a mission. :D |

Location: Upper Left USA | For clarification, the first picture shows the bass strings wound from bottom to top and some, with crossovers. Not smoove, not pretty, drives us OCD wanna-b-luthiers nuts.
Might still work anyway!
Rick - Good use of the word Capstan! |

I'm not wild about how the strings look on the tuner posts, either, but if it works.....(shrug shoulders).....
