Kenny Rogers coached the contestants for last nights Idol. Some of his comments were recorded in what looked like his music room. Just to the right of Kenny the camera showed, sort of in the background but prominent anyway, an Elite 6778LX-NEB, a Gibson ES335 and an acoustic that I could not identify.

Tonight's finale had one of the band members playing an Ovation MM68 mandolin.

I have no shame in admitting that I enjoy watching American Idol, AND that I also play guitars with plastic backs. Dave

PS - Wasn't Simon's hair amazing last night...

Same thing you get when you do a google search for Dave Witko. Congratulations on all those mountain bike wins, Dave.

Which one, Mark? The australian fashion model or the homeopath?

...or the one who won "Category Solo - Single Speed Male"? There's a goal you can tell your mother about...

OK Waskel, now you've probably got everyone looking for the Australian fashion model. I just remember that when I was going to visit Dave to deliver the wooden roundback, I googled him and got lots of hits where he won or was mentioned in mountain bike races. He looked pretty hard core to me. Maybe he lied about his age so he could get in the classes with the old guys. My wife thought he looked too young to have kids in college. (By the way, Dave, that was a right-handed compliment.)

...apparently there's more than one Dave Witco. Unless he also happens to attend homeopathic conferences when he's in Amsterdam.

Hilarious, Fred.. The geocities page is unavailable, but every time it comes up with a different ad for men's hair coloring...

Geez, you made me have to go Google my own name.

1. Australian fashion model - NOT ME. Although it is a somewhat interesting idea.

2. Homeopathic conference organizer - NOT ME. But I made a note Lindsey's email address and might attempt a little Amsterdam rondevous.

3. 24 Hours Singlespeed Solo category. BUSTED. That's me. I'm a big enough man (just ask Cliff) to admit when I've been had. Truth is that although I poked fun at Fred's lycra oriented screen name, I myself am an avid cyclist. When not collecting guitars and wasting hour upon hour posting here, I enjoy mountain biking and I do a few races here and there. I run a team website called Road2Moab.com

So there you have it, all my secrets exposed (almost).

Dave
