If my math is correct, this here is my 500th post on the OFC. And with that milestone, your friend OldLiverJones says adios, farewell and goodbye. I'm going to cut my losses right here and let the number 500 stand next to my name in the directory for all eternity.

Thanks to all those that made the trip so much fun. You know who you are. The rest of you also know who you are.

Fear not. I shall arise from the ashes. Perhaps a kindler, gentler version of my old self. Compassionate, understanding, no snap judgements, no more useless analogies ...

Goodbye, my friends.

Dave

Yes, I know this is not a totally original idea.

Mmmmmmmmm... no. That would just be wrong.

Besides, we just got rid of one. Give us a breather.

Try "Dave in Phoenix" before the other Dave runs up another 5000 posts and takes that one.

I believe:

"Dave in Phoenix's" sure happy in Tuscon

qualifies for the acronym award.

Or maybe not

Four posts in 4 years.....that's a hell of a lurking job.

I guess OvationNut won't respond to this for a least another year or he will really screw up his ratio!

I bought some Levis. When I got home, I noticed they were 501's. I thought that meant I needed another post. My 501st.

Chatmsn had me thinking with this:
"Dave in Phoenix's" sure happy in Tuscon

qualifies for the acronym award.

Or maybe not

how about:
Dave in Phoenix sure hates it there.

not true by the way.

When I went down to Phoenix to visit Dave (OK, I was really visiting my parents), I took pride in saying that I was visiting StandingOvation and pointing out his fantastic Ovation Gallery website. I'm glad he changed his name after I was there. I couldn't bear the thought of saying I was visiting someone who went by the name Tupperware.
