This has GOT to take the term "lawsuit guitar" to a whole new level!

..I don't know, but that's the 'closest' copy I've ever seen...most of them are obvious hack-jobs, but this one looks to be a dead-ringer..

Once in a while I see a message to one of these sellers that they are unlawful to represent anything in their descriptions as 'Ovation-Like' or 'round back a'la Ovation, etc., or to sell guitars with anything on them which resembles patents held by Ovation, KAMAN, or any of their subsidary companies. No one listens though, and I would be supprised if they went anywhere. I sure would like to see what this one sounds like.

They sound OK, about as good as a Celibicy. They've been around for a while. The trade mark is only good in the States, this is the UK.

It takes money to go after these people, lots of it, foreign lawyers are expensive. So do you spend the money and hurt your quarterly earnings or do you ignore it and look good to corporate?

Well put Bill. The loss of profits on sales due to imitations like this is unlikely to warrant legal action.

Then again- "Imitation is the ultimate form of flattery."
Free enterprise, being what it is......I thought the rosette was Ovation-only. Guess not.
Do all the bowls still come from Ashtabula, though?

I called them, they said they would make a 12 fret to body contour bowl cutaway slothead model!

They'll throw in the resealable lid and string tubes for cheap!

It is against eBay's policies. Anyone can report this auction and eBay will pull the auction.
