Some of you may remember that a couple months back I sold my beautiful red Adamas 1881 to Arnaud in France. He graciously thanked me in public on the OFC board and with our usual sacarsism, he felt that maybe we did not understand his happiness and joy over receiving this guitar.

So..........he took the time and energy to compile a wonderful DVD of himself playing a few songs with his beloved 1881 that he sent to me with another beautiful letter of appreciation and thanks.

It just does a fellow proud and puts a lump in your throat to realise how much trust is placed among fellow OFC members who have never met..... putting your total trust in a stranger to send you a guitar after you blindly mailed him out a check for a lot of money...hoping you will get something in return that is close to the item described.

Without further ado....here is one of the wonderful excerpts from Arnuad.

Song For Chet

I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did! :D

I met Arnaud and his new Adamas a few weeks ago. He is for sure a great player.
Congrats again.

Maybe he was originally from Boulder.

HEY, go easy on my French friends. They own some really nice guitars, make good wine and can do wonders with a sliced up potato. Plus, Jerome was kind enough to invite me to his Ovations gathering this weekend. But that was BEFORE he say Freddie & The Fishsticks video. I am hoping the invitation is still good.

BTW, I am bringing some nice CALIFORNIA wine !

Dave, ask Jerome to introduce you to young Byron Louvet. An outstanding young (14, I believe) fingerstyle player who is as nice a guy as he is talented. Jerome introduced me to him (through email) last year and we've been email pals since. He does numerous concerts across France and has a couple of discs out as well. More details on Byron are off of Jerome's site (see here ). I am sure you'll be impressed.

Weaser, I can't believe you suggested exposing a 14 year to Dave.

Dave,
How about some real wine from the State of WA (waaaah). Since we are at the same latitude as France and we have learned from the mistakes the Californicans have made, our wine is obviously superior!

May I suggest a little Chateau St. Michael Dry Reisling! Perhaps a little Silver City Phat Bastard Scotch Ale (8.9 %).

Viva la France!

I said absolutely nothing about "exposing" a 14 year old. But point taken. Maybe we should ask Jerome to supervise the introduction just to make sure that Dave keeps his, uh, skirt on and no mention of "small, but cute instruments" comes up at all.

Hmm, the more I think about this the more I believe you're right, Jeff. Just screams train wreck.

Wow!

Jeff is talking responsibility to Weaser! What just happened?

This whole "bunch of fellas I met in an internet chatroom" thing has so much potential for Parental concerns!

Don't go too easy with us.
We have lots of humour...

I've seen the "Freddie & The Fishsticks video".
You guys have made a great performance!!
I'm not sure but isn't it Slipkid behind on the video???
It's so good to see so much fun at the Factory Tour and that's why my next project will to be with you next year if God wants it.

Dave, we're waiting for you and this video can't change our pleasure to have you as "guest star"!!!
But you don't know what it will happen during this week end.
My friends and I are completely nut...

Byron will not be there but I will meet him in August in Alsace for the 3rd edition of the "Guitar Pickers Association" gathering.
This young boy is so kind like all his family.

I've got a last question for you Dave.
What size for your "French maid" costume???
We don't have "coconut-bra" here... :D

More seriously, you can't imagine how we're all proud and happy to have Dave with us for this BBQ.

It will be a great day and according the "French weather services", the sun will be there!!!
I'm just under pressure because of my English...

J :)

That's why we're so happy to count him with us!!!
And I'm sure that he will be a great Ambassador.

but his knees would be sore...

As to NW wines, Sokol Blosser in Dundee (Yamhill County, Oregon) has always been one of my favorites.

". . If Bill Clinton were still President Dave would be considered an official Amassador . ."

But he's not, so you'll probably get Harriett Meiers instead, . . . maybe she'll bring her JawHarp . . . (eeee-haaaa!).
