Has anyone had this repair done? What is the approx. cost? Also, where do I send it? This Balladeer looks and plays great, except for that nasty crack. Any info would really be appreciated. Thanks.

Many of us have sent in guitars for similar repairs and they all come back looking brand new. Cost depends on condition, whether it is a laquer crack, in the wood, etc.

BEFORE you send the guitar to them. They'll give you an authorization # and shipping address. They'll also discuss possible cost with you. What they don't tell you is the TLC your guitar will receive while in their care. You'll be amazed at her condition when you get her back. Ask anyone here who's had a factory repair experience. I had my Custom Legend done which had a nasty thru the wood crack. The crack is still visible, but the top is pefectly refinished in New England Burst. ![]() The factory will also do a great job of dressing the frets, and other stuff that the guitar will need. If it's worth it to you, comtact Kim at kkeller-kmc@kaman.com for a return authorization. Rest assured that you guitar will come back as close to new as possible.

Was your only other repair option replacing the face? Not sure I want to go that expensive route on this guitar.

They did an OUTSTANDING job. As usual, I could not be happier. Contact them for instructions on sending the guitar and getting a quote. Dave

My guitar had the one large thru-the-wood crack, but it also had numerous finish cracks. My only option was a re-finish. Thanks for all the good onformation. Mitch, the crack in your Legend looks very much like mine. It appears to be about the same length and width. Was your only other repair option replacing the face? Not sure I want to go that expensive route on this guitar. It's a tough decision to make to spend that much money on an old Legend.
