Ever notice that Fathers Day has the same initials as Folklore Deluxe ??? Anyway, happy FD to all my fellow fathers out there. Enjoy your day 'cuz it's back to the shitter tomorrow.

My daughter (junior in college, just setting up her first apartment) called me Thursday. "Hey Dad, I've got a nice FD present for you. Can I have your FedEx number to ship it to you?". Well, yeah... sure. She called again yesterday. "Hey Dad, I found this really cute bedroom bed, dresser and desk and it's only $800. Could I put it on your credit card and you just add it to my college bill?". Yeah, OK I guess.

What's a Dad for ???

Dave

Good news guys....things never change.

My daughter is 30 and my son is 25 and they still can't do things that I was doing at 18 (or maybe they just have their old dad help to make him still feel needed ;) )

Why didn't you guys come up with these ideas before Fathers' Day? Hints never work with my wife and my daughters don't have any money. I did get a helmet for car racing. I guess that means my wife still wants me around for awhile. I also got her blessing to buy a in August. The quid pro quo is new carpet. Can't complain.

Kids.....gotta love em. My daughters (9 and 5) gave me coupons, which of course are NON-REDEEMABLE (go figure). Now, if I can get them to stop bleeding me dry of all my cash, maybe I could change my name to I_HAVE_AN_O instead.

Wouldn't trade the kiddie's for the world. Guess I'll just keep waiting to get the O.

Happy Fathers Day to all.

Joe

We had a great dinner today with just my three boys, (men?) age 20, 22, and 24. We went around the table with each of them telling us something they got away with. Then Pam and I told a few stories about the things they just think they got away with.

It was 97 degrees and humid today and you would think that this day would call for a small supply of gin and tonics by the pool while Lady Weaser and my 13 year old prep the shrimp.

Ok, maybe just I would think that.

Instead it was back to the softball diamond for a playoff game that we dropped in the 7th despite a valiant effort by the girls who were all sopping wet with sweat afterwards. Yours truly assumed his typical role of honorary Ass Coach (yeah, I know), kept the book and led the cheers for all 7 innings.

Priceless times.
