Joined: April 2006 Posts: 103 Location: Townsville, Australia | I posted about this a while ago and bikerfred suggested it was the batteries being bought may be flat. Well the problem resurfaced again over the last couple of days. I have tested my batteries with a multimeter and they are showing 9.5 v when they go in. The thing is that the light glows very low; it seems to be some sort of short in the harness, then again when the Op Pro is left out w/o a battery it started working again. I checked all the plugs and cleaned them, checked the amp jack socket etc Any suggestions, or similar experiences. Op Pro work fine otherwise And finally how many hours running an amp should I expect from new battery, using the Tuner twice daily; temp changes requires a small re-tune

I AM having that problem with the VIP even with the Pro-Cell. I'm trying a long ife energizer smoke detector battery now (good for ten years in a smoke detector) and that seems to be working better, but to soon to really tell much. Al, do you know what Ovation says we should expect for battery life on the Op-Pro, Studio and VIP?

Being an intermittent problem I will probably take to a tech to check the harness Any similar experience

I have had it stay on for several minutes when I am playing it, instead of turning off after a minute like it's supposed to. I also suspect that the guitar dwarves turn it on at night. They seem to stay in tune for years, but lately have been sharp when I pick them up. I can understand going flat, but not sharp. Anyway, I gave up and take the battery out every time.
