Location: CT | Drill the hole, but then put on a black pickguard and pickup rings. That would rock. Call me an old fogey, but I like the traditional look of the black multi-ply guard on the Custom, and the ivory single ply on the Standards. |

Location: Canton (Detroit), MI | DO IT.....if that is what you really want. It looks good without the pickguard, but to look like a "classic" Les Paul, it needs the pickguard.
(Well.....as long as it isn't the 1960 reissue pickguard that has "1960" on it.....that looks SO bogus to me. Just my opinion.)

Location: N.J. | Well the way it stands doesnt look like its going to be "screwed" :) . One thing to clarify though is that its NOT a custom but a Supreme. The super 400 inlays and headstock are different than that of a custom and the back is also a maple cap with no routes for any wiring.Everything is done going thru the input jack.The body is chambered which gives it a much different sound than a custom. This particular one never saw a store as it came direct from the factory,hand picked. I did change the bezels around the pups as they came standard black.Hell, with all the comments I might just change 'em back and leave it stock! :D |
