My favorite Spock's Beard is their 1st one "The Light" from '98, a 4 song prog masterpiece IMHO.

Sounds a bit dated like most prog albums but I still listen to it regularly.

Right now it's the OFC CD, which gets better with each listen, and Kaki King's new "Dreaming of Revenge".

No changer just one CD at a time. Found a CD titled Picture from a band called KINO, they are defunct now but having fun working out the bass lines. Interesting prog rock. Not as good as some of the Spocks beard stuff and sometimes more of a harder edge that I do not like but still fun finding something new. I have a Spocks beard CD called SNOW, can anyone recommend what they feel is their best work?
Interesting stuff so far.

Spock's Beard in the order that I like the best.

The Light ......... (a prog rock masterpiece)
Kindness of Strangers .........(which contains June)
Beware Of Darkness
Day for Night
Snow .........(I think I might have ranked higher if a single disc)
V

These were all before Neal Morse left the band.

I'm amazed at how much I don't know about music... never heard of Spock's Beard (the band) before this thread. And I can say the same for a few other bands/artists too before this board.

Very cool!

And I was watching O Brother this morning too ... the part where they pick up Tommy (at the Crossroads  ) and go play Man of Constant Sorrow. I got through some of that song - I forgot what tuning it was in, but it sounded pretty good.

You're NEVER ready for The Feelies, you're just >>>>m e s m e r i z e d<<<.

Incidently.. they got their name from Aldous Huxley's, A Brave New World . . . The "feelies" were a form of popular entertainment that combined the senses of smell and touch in a movie format...

Thought y'all would want to know...
