I wanted something with a different sounding tone so i was turned on to the ultraGP, which is now being made by Eastwood.. well im getting my paycheck this friday and want to purchase my next guitar.. but ive been having my eye out on the preacher, and I may look into ebay for my purchase.. my quesiton is or really request is .. i have no clue what to get or what any of these guitars sound like..i was wondering if any had any sound clips of the ovation preacher.. what does it sound like bluesy, metal, hard rock etc.. i like it all and like many people my taste go in many directions through the years.I just want something that feels diverse when i play, thats why im looking at ovation.. if you guys have recommendations or suggestions please give..

He has a several Preachers for sale. He also has some other models listed,(Breadwinner,Viper, etc). These will be quality instruments well worth the price.

I found it to have much better versatility and I liked the necks better. Vipers are also more plentiful on the used market. There are several members in this forum that have Vipers for sale (myself included) and there are always a pretty good selection on ebay. Personally, I would always try to buy from an OFC member before taking my chances on ebay.

Mine squeals something nasty though...it also has some other issues that I am not qualified to resolve. Point being, it's a risky venture sometimes. It's been my experience that for a working musician like myself vintage guitars are often more trouble than they are worth. If you buy one from Mr. Ovation or one of MWoody's projects that's a bit of a different story.

Oddly enough I sold a couple of them to players who used Les Pauls and they could not get over how great the UKII sounded and how incredibly light they were. Just make sure that they are in good shape and not all nicked up. I'm willing to bet that Miles has several really nice ones in his collection that he is selling.
