I bought an old 1981 Anniversary Edition deep bowl guitar recently. It has a strap peg on the end, but none near the neck. What would be the best place to connect a strap. I'm a bit wary of drilling before I know where to put the peg. I've installed strap pegs on many axes before, but this 1157 is extra nice. There is a dread factor. Where should I hang the strap? Thanks, Buck

Looks like they put them on the shoulder of the bowl just below the neck. Pre-drill into the neck block. I'd use a Dunlop Strap-Lock.
I'm always leery of putting them in the neck.

Ovation uses a little sleeve, like a molly bolt to anchor a screw hole into the bowl. Contact customer service and they can probably send you one.

Thanks Gents, I see it in the picture, so it must be okay to put one there. That is where I usually put them, but I wanted verification. Danke, Buck
