Emailed the Seller that they should review their description since the body did have dents and dings. I said I still got a deal and would leave positive feedback. I had every intention of stripping it anyway. Seller went and refunded $50. Very reassuring! Cool, but it gets better for me. I was able to repair the Mahogany Neck with minimal evidence of the repair. I also found that the body is a single piece of Mahogany. Question: What Pups would you all put into this resurection? There's a nice set of Gibson P100's on Ebay right now!

They bite more than humbuckers, but they also will give more feedback. P-100s look really cool in ivory against a natural dark stain Mahogany with an ivory pickguard to match, a typical Gibson combination.

Thanks Professor, I thought they might be an interesting flavor with the Mahogany body and Ebony FB. Seymour Duncan's "Pearly Gates" or "Antiquity" HB's sounded like candidates. Has anyone had any success with other Pickups?

I've looked at some of the Offshore manufactured models but I can't find too many reviews. A Seymour Duncan SP90-3 is a leading candidate. I think I'm going to put one Pup in the bridge position and run with that. I like the idea of harmonics coming out. Thanks!

You have to wait 7 weeks to get your pickups (I've ordered twice from them and that's how long it takes) they are wound to your order. I've been really happy with them. The price is exellent and they sound great.

It has an LR Baggs piezo bridge and a twin blade HB running independant. The concept is to run the piezo acoustic sound in one direction and use foot pedals and effects on the HB side. I fired it up in proto mode tonight! I'll throw more pics up later.

Separate volumes for each going out in separate jacks. If I grab a wire and connect over it could be wired stereo out of one jack but naaaaa! "What's that bridge off of?" Ebay... It's an LR Baggs with the "Nashville" Tuna-matic. It is a different width than the "Gibson" style Schaller bridges and it is a 14" radius so there is a chance it is all wrong. I used an adapter plate from some Cherry wood I got from some guy I met in an internet chatroom. "Ever thought of applying a subtle but contrasting binding around the pick guard? (In this case, Sycamore or maple??)" Nope. Not until now, interesting though... This poor PG is in Prototype mode. I still have some carving to do on it.

Will there be anything to protect the strings or you hand past the bridge? You know, I felt kinda bad about changing my Viper into something else, but now I'm feeling good about just how little I actually did change it.....

So the Butcher of Ebay will sleep guilt free! This was a $50 body already stripped and a broken neck! If it was a player I would would feel bad about rearranging its configuration. I wonder - if Ovation had never stopped making solids what configurations would they be pumping out? A piezo bridge would be right in line.

Mahogany body, bridge pickup, through body strings, hot rail pickup, artistic wood pick gaurd, all it needs is a vintage Viper pickup at the finger board for a touch of nostalgia, those original pickups were and are HOT.
