im setting my matrix up yo learn slide. the action is fine for slide,but the question is what strings to use. im sure bill or templeton can set me in the right direction. temp played ti at the gathering. jason

Use a regular 13-56 medium set, but replace the 1st and 2nd strings with a 0.016 and 0.018. That will work for all the common slide tunings such as D, E, G and A.

thanks temp,also what kinda tuner was you using? my tuner only does standard tunings.

Well .... you can just tune your high and low e strings with the tuner, for e tuning, for instance just turn it into an open e working off your e strings ... I probably didn't explain that well, but it gives you an idea ...

or a cheap chromatic tuner like Korg's, you can get it for about 20 bucks. I snagged one at Guitar Center during their labor day sale for $10.00, works great.
