Location: India | Been using my black beauty (Ovation 1778LX5 for a year now by plugging into the church's PA system.
But I feel a dedicated acoustic amp will do justice to this terrific instrument.
Would love to hear your comments about my intended purchase of Roland's AC-60.

Location: East Tennessee | I just purchased a Roland AC 60. Great acoustic amp. Small, light weight, great sound. I mainly use mine as a monitor and line out to the PA system.
There are other makes and models that will do a good job also. Fender, Trace, etc. |

I have an AC60 amp and love it. So does my back after hauling around an 80 lb. Peavey Ecoustic for several years. The vocal channel is super, and I quit using my effects box on the guitar because the amp sounds so good. I put the chorus dial at about 1:00; the bass at 12:00; the mid at 8:00, and the treble at 2:00 for my Balladeer, which has a Fishman Matrix Natural II (and no onboard EQ). For my CS 257, I put the dials at zero (except for the chorus, which stays at 1:00)and EQ the guitar to taste. Sometimes I make adjustments based on where I'm playing. Plenty of volume; I've played everything from small rooms to good-sized halls, and have run the amp direct into a PA to play outside. Get one; you won't regret it.
Mike-- I see you got an AC60. Good deal. Hope my comments were helpful.

I almost pulled the triger on a Trace TA 50R on ebay. But after playing the Roland I felt for a little more money I would know what I was getting. There are other really nice Acoustic amps out there but larger and heavier. The AC 60 fills my needs. |

Location: India | Thanks Mike and Rick especially for the settings. I took special note of your reference to the 'excellent vocals' as I sing and play.
The AC-60 sells for INR 25k here in India (Roland dealer).
JPCannon's question is interesting. I use the GK-2A/GI-20 for accessing synth sounds as well as autoaccompaniment from my Yamaha QY100. |
